RAW PROLIFERATION

2022-2023: What is RAW? A piece of monotype printing that is RAW is one that does not try to hide or change anything about its subject. It’s a literary raw and realistic story of natures survival from and struggle against human influences.
The collective name “RAW” for this series of monotypes obviously has connotations with the digital world. In the sense that in this series, each image contains all the original raw and unprocessed data corresponding to our mental image experiment.
All the information has been incorporated into the print to process, within human capability, brain and image together to create a very unique personal perception and interpretation of abstraction and suggestion.
And why – PROLIFERATION- as a subtitle?
The series also has the additional title “PROLIFERATION” from to proliferate, English for multiply or in a negative sense, proliferate. In this case, the term refers to the way graphic characters and colours blend as a result of monotypes printed on top of each other (printing plates).
This process leads to a proliferating image mixture that itself refers to a spontaneous proliferation of organic material with the diverse growths and artefacts of an environment best compared to a landfill.
