2024-2025: The FALLEN ANGELS in this series of monotypes represent the idea of elected leaders using lies and fake news to play on their subjects and the media to maintain their position of power. First they proclaim themselves as chosen by the misguided masses and then they grow into the demons who bend the world to their own will. In these monotypes, their appearances are deformed from anatomical human images to wrought whimsical forms and structures that shake the compositional balance. These “fallen angels” lose their wings and send out an analogous image of our current endangered world order, which they play in very idiosyncratic ways as their ego takes centre stage.korte tekst van de serie…
